
Megan "Gem" Moran
I'm Megan "Gem" Moran, LMHC (NY), RYT-200, a clinical psychotherapist in private practice serving residents of New York. My focus is on nurturing your whole Self to make real and lasting changes in your life. I am also a registered yoga and mindfulness instructor who guides people through greater relaxation and energetic activation.
Education & Training:
I earned a Master of Arts. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Integrative Mental Health from New Mexico State University. I completed my clinical training in the inpatient and partial hospitalization programs at Mesilla Valley Hospital where I was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction. After becoming a registered yoga instructor with Yoga Oasis, I've gained extensive experience applying mind-body approaches in community, hospital and private practice settings. I draw from over five years of experience providing mental health services in a variety of settings from Clear Lake Healing Arts Center, 4 Directions Integrative Mental Health, Creativity Mental Health Counseling, Mesilla Valley Hospital, the New York State Project Hope Covid-19 Emotional Support Helpline, working with Interfaith Minister and Dr. Deborah Berman, and teaching yoga at Dwell Within Yoga.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and International Development Studies with honors from UCLA where I conducted research and taught an undergraduate course on applied feminism. Thus, my psychotherapeutic approach is grounded in anti-oppression and always considers cultural and environmental factors.
